Shane is a multi-sport adventure athlete. He is especially drawn to ultra endurance events in challenging terrain. Getting outside trekking, biking, and paddling - linking together interesting terrain features on a map is his passion. When he is not racing with teammates at the National and World Championship level, he is out training, putting together adventures and designing racecourses.
Racing highlights over the last ten years include National podium finishes, a National Championship, second place (twice) at ARWS Belize, 17th at the World Championship in Wyoming and forging some incredible friendships.
I did my first adventure race in the Fall of 2000. Since then, I have done over 200 races of various types and length including 40 some expedition adventure races. I often navigate for the team, though not always, and rarely for an entire expedition race. These days, failing eyesight makes it a sketchy proposition for everyone involved.
I love to be out in the woods with just a map and a compass (and my dog). There is something very satisfying about finding one's way across a wilderness area - whether on or off the trails. For me, it doesn't get any better than bushwhacking across some diverse terrain all night long heading for a hard-to-find checkpoint. And I seem to learn something new at every event I attend.
Peter has been competing in sporting events since his first 25k ski race at the age of 10. He has since branched out into running, mountain biking, orienteering and adventure racing. With 10 years of adventure racing Peter has been able to travel the world competing in 2 ARWS championship races and a long list of domestic events. When racing, Peter typically takes the role of lead navigator, guiding his teammates through whatever terrain a race throws at competitors.
When not racing Peter enjoys wood working, home improvement, and cooking.
Rachel started as a runner, became an avid mountain biker, and loves all things endurance and outside. Her favorite place to be is in the woods, especially with friends and a map. She loves the places that racing has taken her and cherishes the memories made. Rachel looks forward to racing and playing for as long as she can!
With over 15 years of expedition adventure racing experience in amazing races such as the Eco-Challenge, Primal Quest, the World Championships, Explore Sweden and more, Rick is a well-heeled “old coot” in the extreme sports world. When not racing AR or in ultras, he’s often found behind the camera filming them or other adventure sports for documentaries or television. His favorite discipline is easing into nice, cushy Transition Areas preferably on warm beaches. Rick currently resides in Dallas, TX where the unbearable heat substitutes for every kind of pain and suffering available in an adventure race.
Chris started racing competitively in 2004. He is typically drawn to multi-sport endurance events but also participates in individual races from 5Ks up to week long Adventure Races. In 2013, Chris tore his ACL and meniscus while playing soccer. This led to a year off of racing and a desire to come back stronger than ever. Chris enjoys pushing the limits which has led him to pursue international multi-day races. Truly experiencing other cultures is very important to him and competing in International races has provided a unique way to do this.
When not racing, Chris enjoys Bee Keeping, Home Improvement, and spending time with his dog & cat.
